Youth and Teen Summer Classes
Rufo Art Summer Classes are here! Relax and expand your creativity painting, drawing, and expressing yourself! The classes are mixed ages and everyone is encouraged to work at thier own pace. Summer is a great time to grow creatively in a warm and supportive environment!
Classes run Monday through Friday, except the week of July Fourth AND the week of July 25 - 28. Sessions cost $125 for five two hour classes. The four day weeks are $100. Ask about our sibling discount.
Youth classes are open to everyone ages seven and up.
Teen classes are open to everyone in double digits.

Youth Art Classes - time to register
This session I'm offering a painting class for students ages 7 and up. We'll focus on acrylic painting on canvas, with some new media and lessons as well. Our focus is on the development of each artist in a warm and encouraging environment. Class meets on Tuesdays 3:30 - 5:00. Classes are 5 weeks long. This session will meet March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5.
My adult course is still running due to several snow cancellations! The new session will begin in late March. I will post again when registration opens for the next session.

January Art Classes
This January I am offering two adult art classes and one youth class. All classes run for 5 weeks. Specific dates are listed below. Youth classes are limited to 6 students, Adult classes to 4 students. Sign up early to be assured a spot!
I am also offering Monday morning studio time. From 9:00 - 12:00 artists and students may sign up to come use the studio and materials on a regular basis or to finish up paintings begun in class. This time is less structured but I am available to help at all times! Art studio time may be purchased in a batch of 5 for $225, or on an individual basis for $45 per session.

Drawing and Mixed Media
Tuesdays 3:30 - 5:00
Drawing is a true foundation skill for any artist. But there are many approaches to drawing beyond putting pencil to paper. We will explore different media including charcoal, and pen & ink; as well as a variety of approaches to drawing. We will be drawing from life as well as from imagination.
January 11, 18, 25, February 1 and 8.
Adult Class
Painting I
Wednesdays 6:30 - 9:00
In this class we will use both acrylic and oil paints. We will work from a still-life to cover topics such as palette, composition and basic application of the paint. This class is a great way to try painting for the first time, or to pick it up again after a gap.
January 19, 26, February 2, 16 and 23.
No class on February 9.
Teen Class - I am beginning to develop a teen class and am interested in speaking with anyone who is interested about the scope of the class as well as schedule. Please contact me if you would like more information.

While new skills and materials are introduced and practiced, students are encouraged to choose their own subject matter and to complete projects at their own pace.
My classes are designed to teach specific skills and to give freedom of expression. I foster a warm, relaxed and supportive atmosphere in the studio, encouraging students to take risks and try new things.
